Maybe it’s just edgier to hate on EVs?
I think it's more that so many places are presenting EVs as the solution (or at least a large part of it) and good for the environment rather than just a slightly cleaner part of the same problem.
I know my council rolls encouraging EV takeup into the sustainable transport plan for instance.

Sure, but there’s very little, if any, debate in the car thread on those vehicles being large contributors to carbon emissions both globally and locally.
BEVs are not the solution to climate change. That should be fucking obvious. It just baffles me that people choose to spend time having that debate here whilst entirely avoiding the conversation in the car thread.

It’s strange seeing this commentary here rather than on the much more populated car thread where there is even less consideration for congestion or emissions.

All this energy (no pun intended) could be put to better use converting classic car owners or people with holiday vans to cargo bike zealots…
In terms of disappointing people on the content of a thread, perhaps the climate change thread is more appropriate for broader conversations on emissions and congestion solutions.
