Bought the frame in the US while spending some time there and brought it back on the plane. Bit of a mock up build as I plan to make some changes with the handlebars/stem/ headset and forks. A friend of mine Is working on recreating the decals so I can give it a fresh coat of paint. Probably the sameish colour but perhaps with a subtle flake or metallic finish. Suggestions welcome.
Wheels were rebuilt at Seabass on a Zenith hub which I'm fairly impressed with for the price however the chap that built the wheels dropped a nipple into the rim which is proving difficult to get out. Chap said he tried but no discount on the cost and the rim was in the shop built up for around 2 weeks before I picked it up so I feel a little salty.
Wheels used to look like this >
Cleaned them up, sourced new decals, lightly sanded and cleaned the braking surface (wear indicator suggestions a fair bit of life left) and I'm pretty happy with how its come out.
p.s I know its too small but Ive fallen in love with it now. Going to try and clean up the cockpit area so I can get rid or some of the spacer stack or sort the stem angle. Perhaps a bar with more rise...
nice catch! the wheelset is the icing on the cake, too bad about that lost nipple! I´m sure with enough time to your hands you can shake it out of the rim through the valve hole
