I know it’s shit for some people, and this probably doesn’t make people rethink their choices, but I dislike the SUVs round my way so am a little happy to see this

We are consulting on proposals to expand the Ultra Low Emission Zone
(ULEZ(External link)) London-wide on 29 August 2023. We want to hear
your views on our proposals. These proposals are part of the
commitment by the Mayor of London and TfL to help improve air quality
and public health, tackle the climate emergency and reduce traffic
congestion across Greater London. It doesn't jump out but there is a survey at the bottom..

That vehicle does look just the ticket for nipping around those tight SE streets and dropping the kids off... :(

TIL That at some point we could have had a £25 congestion charge for larger vehicles, on here actually - https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/132286/

Feel free to rebalance this fair fuel UK survey with the usual leading questions, this one trying to poorly frame LTN/similar schemes as money making, etc.I have been asked by thousands of supporters to challenge more and
more of the un-consulted and needless Low Emission Zones in dozens of
cities across the UK. More and more local authorities are making it
harder to drive in and around our cities. Traffic controls, punitive
charges and restrictions are springing up on a regular basis. It is
difficult to know what the local council motives really are. We can
only guess! -

most tragically children run over in driveways by unsighted parents.
^ idk if it was an SUV, but a kid in our friends school was run over and killed by their dad. And the other month a nursery friend who was in an SUV almost ran over their 4yo.
When I did my van training they walked around the van with a child sized stick to demonstrate the blind spot - I know it's not realistic to mandate that prior to purchasing a car but for me personally the impact of having someone show me that I wouldn't be able to see a kid before I hit them without changing my position really hit home. The difference with a van is that the seats aren't like car seats and you move about in them and often don't have a seat belt.

The replies to that though smh

Let’s not turn this issue into anything so boring as a culture war. If you feel an automated rant coming on about metropolitan elites persecuting ordinary folk, remember that huge cars are mostly driven by the rich.
