2016 reissue
Had no idea this was thing. Does that mean that have the more modern crank puller threading? V useful if so.
Cranks are great but the whole bike looks fantastic.

Thanks! Looking forward on how it will be with fenders, racks and randonneur bag...
Yepp, the modern TA Cranks (also now still available) have normal crank puller threading and standard dimension pedal threads as well. Also the crank is just a little bit bent outwards to clear front derailleurs better. If you're going for them: don't be irritated that they are for ISO bottom brackets - ISO has changed in 2015 and is almost identical to JIS now....

That is the link I simultaneously wanted but did not need! Very classy indeed.

Haha....yes. The price tag is quite hefty on them...and even the most Taiwan copies are still on the more expensive side (allthough I know one unbranded copy for 125€ incl. chainrings, which is more than ok).

Is this what I need to replace the conical spacer/headset cover on a specialized mindset headset?

If you're in the UK, getting one from me would be cheaper

Bought the frame in the US while spending some time there and brought it back on the plane. Bit of a mock up build as I plan to make some changes with the handlebars/stem/ headset and forks. A friend of mine Is working on recreating the decals so I can give it a fresh coat of paint. Probably the sameish colour but perhaps with a subtle flake or metallic finish. Suggestions welcome.
Wheels were rebuilt at Seabass on a Zenith hub which I'm fairly impressed with for the price however the chap that built the wheels dropped a nipple into the rim which is proving difficult to get out. Chap said he tried but no discount on the cost and the rim was in the shop built up for around 2 weeks before I picked it up so I feel a little salty.
Wheels used to look like this >
Cleaned them up, sourced new decals, lightly sanded and cleaned the braking surface (wear indicator suggestions a fair bit of life left) and I'm pretty happy with how its come out.
p.s I know its too small but Ive fallen in love with it now. Going to try and clean up the cockpit area so I can get rid or some of the spacer stack or sort the stem angle. Perhaps a bar with more rise...

nice catch! the wheelset is the icing on the cake, too bad about that lost nipple! I´m sure with enough time to your hands you can shake it out of the rim through the valve hole

Whooshwhoosh Ritchey Road logic with shorter stem.
Need a 0 degree post to work with 110mm stem or else I am hella stretched out. 80mm on there now. It works. Will have to tilt the hoods and bar down ever so slightly too.
Grocerygetter/To-the-lake-whip Cinelli Viggo with longer stem.

Building my first fixie at the moment. Learning as I go, and just using spare bits I have kicking about (besides the sweet Novatec wheels courtesy of @margot_skidder). It has a 42t chainring, what are peoples suggestions on a suitable all-round cog size? Just hoping to use it for running errands around town. Thinking 15T at the moment….

Thinking 15T
Think again. 17T is what you want if you're not already sure what you want.

Okay, I’ve not bought anything yet so open to suggestions

• #129971
I really like 48/20 for tooling around town. 42/17 is slightly bigger, so I would also not get a 15.

open to suggestions
OK, I'd also suggest fitting the second brake and drop bars. Toe clips and straps wouldn't hurt unless your idea of town errands involves nice shoes.
-
• #129973
Yeah I will probably fit the rear brake anyway. Have got some Christophe toe straps somewhere but I do admittedly find them a faff

Just swapped the white FSA seatpost for a Thomson Elite one too to get my saddle setback nearer where I want it

Built this Moser up using parts robbed from a Merckx I bought last year and upgraded. Frame was a lowball ebay offer that the seller unexpectedly went for. Its a bit rough so perfect for a commuter, and the colour/graphics are cooler than I first thought. Couldn't get the square taper BB out so that stayed. Murex stem. and Speciale bars rattle canned black to match. Rides really nicely!
