  • This will have been discussed - forgive me. I'm after an amp for practice - largely with headphones - maybe a little recording. Looking at the following:
-Blackstar Fly 3 Bt - tiny - would get some use as a bt speaker in kitchen but fairly sure i'd be disappointed in tone for practice.
-Blackstar ID Core Beam - an alternative to a Yam THR10
-Blackstar HT 1H - proper valve head with speaker emulated out - best for tone ? nice and compact but only headphones - could ad cab if i want later.
-Yamaha THR 5 / 10 - always seemed like a good option to do everything and sit in the living room looking nice-ish
-Boss Katana - there's a mini one and big one - seem good
    Anyone any advice ?

  • I have a Yamaha THR 10 (1st generation) and I use it most days. It’s a great sounding amp at low volumes and surprisingly takes pedals well.

I haven’t tried the amps so I can’t compare the features, especially as my version of the amp doesn’t have Bluetooth. But for indoor volume and sound/tone I’d recommend.
