GC is just an exclusive pub isn't it?
Yes, yes it is.
To be fair to BCGC, that is the bar menu. There is a posher dining room but I couldn't get hold of a menu.

What was the sandwich like?
Are curly fries GC, I'd expect trice cooked chips cooked in either dripping/lard.
Oh what do you class as a fishfinger sandwich...

Don't diss fish finger sandwiches.
They be delicious. -

As a purveyor of the fish finger sandwich, I will diss anything that is golf clubbed to be classed as a fish finger sandwich.
Fish finger sandwiches will be on the finest white bread, (sunblessed, or fine lady bakery more spongy and bland) the finger are made of the finest white fish. Outer of the the finger must be crispy, and the fish finger mainly crumb. Tartar sauce meybe added but must be randon sachets stolen from somewhere.

This supports my previous thinking that golf clubs are a different thing up north (https://www.lfgss.com/comments/16511374/).
This is exactly what I’d expect to see I reckon, probably the same as a rugby club menu from down the road, but just has a dress code.

As a wean, we used to occasionally eat at what was probably the worst GC in County Antrim. The menu, in its entirety, throughout my whole childhood, was:
Sausage & chips
Burger & chips
Chicken Maryland & chips
Scampi & chips
Gammon & chipsThe gammon was the only thing that came on a plate rather than a basket. It may have been downmarket, but the views of the members were the same as you'd get at the Belfry, Sunningdale or Wentworth (with an added soupçon of local sectarianism).

In fairness (like that matters) I think it had a reduction to £2000 when the link was posted. Which for an Ekar group on a titanium frame?
