• Do you ever wonder whether it would be better to not bother with modifying the steel bodyshell of an ICE car and just get a carbon tub made which resembles the original car but has sensible places to put the electric gear?

    That was my immediate thought but these are golf-club accessories or labours of love ; shiny trinkets for those who can afford them and want to be able to wow / impress / befuddle their peers with their tales of ingenuity. Objective utility / value / viability of the final product just won't really come in to it.

    Prices will only come down a bit through government incentives

    It concerns me a bit that govt. incentives would be anywhere near it tbh. But I think what is meant here is that 'prices will only go up'

  • A Taycan will impress your gc buddies more than an ev Citroën DS.
    And there are many incentives for new EVs allready in place so why not for conversions? Why should I be paying for someone elses new EV and not for someones conversion? I like looking at a classic car a lot more than looking at a Model Y.
