After his crash at Liege, it was always touch and go if he'd be fit in time for the Tour. He raced the French Nationals yesterday, which was his first race back, but presumably the team and he have decided it makes sense to fully recover rather than throw him into the Tour and for him to potentially underperform.

Het Nieuwsblad reporting that Alaphillipe won’t be in the Quick Step Tour team. The full team line up will be announced later today.
