  • Ah interesting, it's on my watch (Coros) but was interested to see if there was crossover to cycling. I see all the same Critical Power references etc and same principles around polarized, running below LT1 etc.

    I presumed that as my watch correlates really closely to Stryde there may be some out there using either/both to structure training and recovery..

  • You could maybe use it as a proxy for efficiency. I'd guess if you were to jump up and down on the spot it would show a fairly high power figure (but obviously you'd be going nowhere).
    Then if you can either reduce RPE for the same power, or increase pace for same power etc.

    Maybe unfair for me to say it's not useful, but rather that it's not as pure a figure as you get on a bike, since it's being made up from things like ground contact time, presumably various accelerometer figures. Not sure if it uses weight though, so I don't think there's a w/kg equivalent for example.

    I think if you can find a way to make it useful then it can be useful, but it's still very much a new stat
