Ta. Sleeping lots. Eyes hurt. Can't get more LFT's delivered until next Friday my partner says.

New variants are driving the recent increase. (you all knew, but now in infographic format)

Neighbour dropped us some LFT's, proper no messing solid line today. I've reported both tests via nhs site so am part of the stats.

The app tells me I've had a close contact.
Seems amazing that I was in contact with someone who was also running the app, got Covid, tested and reported the result!
That day the only thing I did was cycle to a mostly train strike empty office. Sat far apart from anyone else.

There is a apparently a shortage of Pfizer vaccine. My daughter has just been turned away from her booked appointment as the pharmacy hasn't got any, they think there isn't any in the area (North London).

My partner had the same yesterday. Then got informed that the conference they attended had a positive case.
It surprises me how much the app is still used, a good kind of surprise.

Dammit. Both my brothers, who had Covid at the same time as me in March, both have Covid again. This acquired immunity thing isn't keeping up is it?

Faaawwwk. Faint line on Sunday, thick line this morning. Zero chance I'm clear for Friday, right?
-

Not to get your hopes up, but I went faint line Sunday to no line Friday a few weeks back (on antigen) - fingers crossed for you.

• #26961
Thank you, that's given me a shred of optimism
-
• #26962
my other half only had a faint line for 5 days

I also had covid back in April. This one feels completely different. Muscle spasms and soreness and fatigue, but no other symptoms. Strange.
-
• #26964
They guesstimate you get maybe 12 weeks of immunity from catching it / vaccination.
Protection against serious illness should last far longer. But we had it in April, and I am already resigned to catching it again at some point...
(hopefully just NOT when I finally get to see my parents in NL again in August ffs)
Hopefully your brothers get well soon. -

I first had it back in Jan/Feb 22, and I caught it again last week at a conference in Madrid.
The first bout came with severe fatigue, headache etc. but it’s very mild this time - just a slight throat irritation, less severe than even a mild cold.

I’ve just tested positive for the first time - totally baffled by the gov advice. Stay home for 5 days but don’t worry about it if you can’t?! Don’t bother testing even if you think you have it?! Can’t get a free test unless in specific at risk categories but can’t report a result if you buy your own anyway?!

It's all bollocks as they've effectively just wiped their hands of it. I'm day 5 still feel shitty, but I can go out and spread it tomorrow by being a good citizen going back to the office hopefully via Costa on my way there, Pret for lunch then Wetherspoons after work all to bolster the economy. Fuck that.

I've been wearing a 3M respirator whenever I'm not outdoors for the past two and half years.
Five days a week, I spend three hours per day on the trains.
I'm the only one in our (unventilated) office of four who hasn't had covid.
GWS with minimal suffering to those that haven't been so lucky. -

The absence officer has emailed today about youngest school attendance as he has been off as I gave him covid.
She says current guidance is day zero when you test positive and you go back to school day 3 without testing if you feel well enough.....
-
• #26973
And that's the guidelines where you are? Wow like they want everyone to get it.

Two colleagues of mine felled now.
One got it at the loam Gallagher concert we have dubbed his variety "wondercough".
Office now back to full capacity but as most people don't show up and airco is at full blast it's low risk for now. We have free masks too.

A few Glastonbury folks have got it, the 2022 superspreader event that Bangface somehow wasn't?
Fingers crossed for you, just coming out of the other side of the same.
