Is there any reason why someone with a musical instrument should be allowed into a cricket ground?
Lord's has it right. No flags, no musical instruments, can still bring in a bit of your own booze.

Barmy army trumpeter has been allowed in for years. Adds to the atmosphere.
He picks his moments to pipe up. -

Can't happen again. Can it?

If you’re prepared to risk a bottle or three of cheap red from the Tesco up the road you can blag your way into Lords with a few and say you’re bringing it in for mates who are already in there. Get them to do the same. Last time I did that I can just about remember watching Jimmy get his 500th wicket. I remember not queuing for booze all day which was a delight

Two daft reviews. Hope that comes back to bite them

Never had much of a problem with bar queues at Lord's, especially now they have dedicated bars for bitter/lager/Guinness.
As with most bars it's the people that order 3 G&T's and wank on about which Gin and which tonic they want in each, a Pimms, a decaf cappucino, a chai latte, a bottle of wine "can I see the wine list please?", then right at the end and just before paying ask for a Guinness.

Can you still take a bottle of wine or four beers into a Lords test?
-
• #12322
Yup. Helps keep things ticking over

I was thinking about it but even on the other side of the Pennines, it seems a long way to go for a session and a bit.
Such a shame. What a job though.
