Thanks, I've not really updated my saddle tastes during this century and was hoping I'd get away with a 90's saddle on a relatively modern-looking bike....

A pile of random bits left over from projects or purchased for abandoned builds this morning, out for a spin tonight.

Such bling. Wonder how that rides. Is it a 1" steerer?

Only taken it on a quick 10 min spin but first impressions are that itβs very stiff. Yep 1β, need to look out for a silver stem.

Ended up with this Specialized Rockhopper frame for almost no money. Came with the original 1" fork so it should be an early model. Seems in good condition, obviously some signs of use but no dings and the bottom bracket threads are crisp.
It will most likely will end up as a "single speed with plush tires" kind of build.

Nice.
Years ago I had one quite similar. Mine was a β91 comp model and had short horizontal dropouts and 1β quill- I reckon yours is 1990 or 91

My first build, a 46cm Condor Lavoro! Im 5ft, and so it was very difficult as a fixed rider to find a nice frame that fit well. Been a few months in the works but finally finished her yesterday!
H+Son archetypes laced to Goldtec hubs,
Sg75 cranks w/ an Affinity chainring +
Thomson finishing kit,
Cinelli pepper bars w/ Oury grips and an SMP saddle -

Almost finished the Gazelle randonneur. Only missing fenders, racks+bags and lights...rides nice with the 38mm tires...

Thanks! (to @jeff80 @vpCogworks as well)...
The cranks are the 2016 reissue, with them came a letter with handwritten signings by all the people involved - quite a nice detail ;)

Oh, and one funky thing the previous owner of the frame did (quite well I think) - modifying something like a pletscher plate down to a butterfly stay by cutting it out. Before it was fitting only 28mm tires, now 38mm with fenders ;)

Very cool!
That saddle fits the bike perfectly!
