This does remind me that I should take more recent pics.
- Wheels are de-stickered (were within days of receiving them)
- Wheels re-spoked with standard round spokes (snapped a couple of the higher tension flat spokes I was using by hitting rocks on trails, so when for lower tension but stronger round spokes that allow more forgiveness in the wheel)
- Skewers changed
- Crankset changed to one far far nicer and more in fitting with the rest of the bike (Specialites TA Carmina)
- Tyres changed to much wider gravel ones (Schwalbe G-One AllRound) and they still have great clearance inside the fenders (as the tyres that went on the build in the photo just happened to be some lying around and 29er slicks were what I had in mind at the time and since then gravel tyres became a thing)
It's the same bike... but now far more comfortable in itself. Removing the carbon cranks and rim stickers also just makes it look right... it looks like an old man capable and beloved tourer, which is roughly what it is.
