  • We have to use stainless coated fasteners at work into our aluminium castings because of this. Done a fair amount of work on it in the past . Have some great pics of aluminium being eaten away by it!

  • Thanks. Does this also apply so vigorously to anodised aluminium, with well lubed Ti fasteners?

    Just wondering whether I’ll be immediately deaded unless I swap all my stem bolts...

  • Titanium is fine as far as corrosion goes, but see my 94 earlier posts about why swapping stock steel fasteners for Ti is potentially dangerous.
