Do we know the nat trophy races for this year yet? I'm trying to decide if I have enough in my legs to finish one.

Fit advice
Hello, I brought a Ridley X ride from Paul <Milne; its about to be built up.
As advised, I brought a size smaller. Any other advice on set up?
I ve seen that some people advice wider bars and shorter stems . Or should I , as much as possible, follow my road bike set up?It won't be raced , or I am not planning to race , but it will be used on trails in Epping Forest and possibly the drier , smoother sections of the King Alfred's way.

Some advice on fit

personally I don't have much difference between cx and road fits - maybe another 5-10mm spacer under the stem but other than that the same.
However, I have historically sized down then put on a larger stem and longer seatpost. I think I prefer the bike feeling smaller, and the lower standover height when riding off road
who's doing the london summer cx tomorrow night?

I follow my road fitting exactly.
Wider bars feel grotesque.

Sized down from 42mm to 40 on the advice of my fitter, and I also note that Bike Fit James argues for smaller bars.
So I think I 'll stick with my 40mm RHMs -

who's doing the london summer cx tomorrow night?
Oh yes. But in the geriatrics race, rather than the main event.

I have a pompino medium frame and bits I want shot of. Does anyone know any similar hobbits willing to hurt themselves more than necessary by riding single speed cross? -

If itβs not gone soon Iβm going to get really tempted to build it up for my own fun and games.

Anyone got any training advice for a mediocre rider who has been half decent at cross in the past but is now mid thirties and has lost his edge?
On a positive note I'm in the best shape I've been in for 10 years. I'd quite like to be at the pointy end of races again.

Is anyone riding the summer series race at HHV this eve? I'm going down for some beers/to cheer my clubmate on. I was supposed to be racing but I've been ill, haven't done any training and it's 28 degrees.

Come say hello if you see me. Look out for a lanky bastard in a Hub Velo t-shirt, likely clutching a beer.

quick browse doesn't deliver any time schedule. I would have liked to come after school pickup, does anyone have any info ?

I was going to buy myself a posh bike for this year. But then remembered that I had one of these a few years ago and it was cracking. So instead I'm going to get a pair and be a 2 bike wanker.
