  • I got one of the EVO91 seatposts. My notes:

    • Logo graphics definitely not coming off easily.
    • Tilting base (1) part of the saddle rail clamp felt pretty flimsy and had a very small contact area so I replaced it with the one from my previous seatpost
    • The coloured tube (2) which the bolts thread through can actually slide fore and aft when the bolts aren't tightened. Discovered this too late after really struggling to get the right angle on the front bolt's head with no clearance from the seat post.
    • Between the new CF post and new Ti rail saddle, saved 120g on my previous setup even though my old post was 50 mm shorter. Made these changes for comfort either way, but still interesting.

... I'm ok to use this for bikepacking, right?

Ah that was why! I was struggling to get my torque wrench in there and have been terrified by the idea of cracking the rail / not tightening down enough

  • I'm torn on this. Only £28, but point one you describe sounds like it's not worth it for the weight saving. How's the comfort factor? Significantly better?

Also, anyone tried the bars yet?

  • I use one on my road bike, bikepacking for a fortnight & several other weekenders with no slipping issues.
