Got an old Specialized Rockhopper going cheap: https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/376093/#comment16541499
But it needs a fair bit of work so probably not ideal if you've got a day to sort it.

oooooh! It's next weekend, not this, so I don't mind a bit of work. I think size might be an issue - I'm just about 6ft. 15 inches is pretty small right? I'm not familiar with MTB sizes...

I think it would be way too small. The reason it's sitting around collecting dust and not being ridden is because my housemate picked it up on a whim and it's about two sizes too small for him at 5'9". For context, I'm 6'4" and it looks like a child's bike next to me.
Best of luck on your search, though. I'm sure someone on here will have something!

Hi all,
Organised a trip with friends to do this next weekend.
MTB promptly nicked the next day.
Looking for something, anything that will get me around on the downs. Based in Brighton but happy to collect from London. Would love to hear from anyone who's got a cheap as chips MTB, or any advice.
Thanks!
