As janky as DALL-E mini is, it’s wild how good DALL-E 2 is. Reality is going to get even fuzzier.

Walk past this often on my way to work. I think it's the culmination of many years frustration at people pushing sweets, sandwiches and all kinds of crap through the fence

That is next level. If I was an illustrator I'd be worried.

Crazy right? Saw that it was used for a recent Cosmopolitan cover too.

And this photo of a Shiba is just blowing my mind.

So how would the copyright be arranged here, is the software owner copyright holder?
-
• #95518
Similar arguments around Github CoPilot... so far legal determination has been that work produced by AI is not copyrightable and that the copyright of a piece of software does not extend to works created using the software (just imagine how that would impact Photoshop, Ableton, etc)

That's really interesting, ta for enlightening me. Though most photoshopped images might have too much of a creative influence from the maker (or whatever the correct legal terminology is) to undo it from any copyright. These dall-e's and the cosmo cover though might go without copyright, although I can imagine some modern day Thomas Edison might find a way to claim it when it's profitable enough.

I think they ended up quite good after they got H&K to refurb them.

Yes, although "refurb" is putting it mildly. By the time they'd fixed them, they were effectively whole new guns.
Presumably this was when they still had high hopes for the SA80
