  • but I could probably force myself to go at least once, just to see what the fuss was about

Genuine question...is there a festival anywhere in the world that can beat Glastonbury for genre diversity and size of lineup?

  • Depends on your idea of genre diversity, I see the Glastonbury lineup and I see a shit load of rock, and indie, followed by legacy headliner and then further down the line, whatever electronic “band” is flavour of the month/year and then some black music, with some experimental/folk/world music shaken in at the end.

I have no interest in rock or indie so Glastonbury doesn’t rise much in my estimation.

  • You're probably right about it being indie focused but don't forget that the lineup poster doesn't include everybody playing.

There are over 40 stages and 500 bands on the bill iirc.
