  • An inspired choice of cranks.

  • Cheers, they're not superlight but I think they work pretty well with the build

  • Very smart

  • Thanks, I’m pretty pleased with how it ended up. Just need to get some big rides in

  • Couple more detail shots - one showing the Ali express brake caliper

  • Nice. Reminds me of one of mine from a few years back.

I thought the cranks looked like the old Saints initially

  • That’s rad - like it a lot - Colour’s great

  • Sadly I’ll be waiting a while to get the miles in on this

  • Wiped out in Ockham on my way home from a Surrey hills ride and am sat in st.Peter’s hospital feeling sorry for myself and generally gutted

  • Shit, that doesn't look like much fun! Hope you heal up soon.

  • Oooouch

That sucks. Hope you are mended soon.

  • Thanks @Eejit & @ltc I think it’s going to be a long haul but I’m getting good cars and so far so good

  • Fuck, that sucks arse! Pinned and screwed you’ll be right in no time. Oh and do your physio!!!

  • Ooh ouch. That looks major. What’s the actual damage?

  • The fracture was right across the top of the femur so they got the longest pin available and used it to nail the broken bit back on under traction. The pin is secured top and bottom with screws, 2 above the knee and one through the hip ball

  • Oh no, get well soon! Looks like you'll have to avoid airports for a while....

  • Ouch. Heal up fast and recover well!

  • Bloody hell mate, I wish you the speediest possible recovery! Hope you're not in too much pain.

  • This metalwork is in there for life and apparently you can't get Orthocards or any proof of metal implant anymore so I've got all that to look forward to. I was supposed to be in Italy this week but I'm only just managing the stairs on my crutches so I'll be grounded for the time being.....

  • Thanks - I got a page of exercises when I left hospital which I'm doing daily but I've got my first proper session tomorrow

  • Thanks, really appreciate that. pain's not too much of a problem but I think it'll be a long road

  • man, wish you a fast recovery. at least it's high grade titan.

  • And the exasperating thing was that I was on pretty decent form for me - about as good as I've been for at least 5 years...

  • Hopefully the gravel bike in this thread will stick to the road a bit better when I'm finally able to ride again!

  • Now you need a titanium bike to match your bionic legs
