  • What's a recommended road/commuter tyre that comes in 26/27 mm? I think I can fit bigger than 25s but maybe not 28s.

For absolute puncture protection there's a 700c x 25mm Schwalbe Marathon Plus. But they're heavy. (I have them on my commuter/utility bike.)

For a sportier tyre still with some protection for commuting/audax I used to get ~5k (front) and ~3k (rear) out of a 25mm Conti GP 4 Season, but there was the occasional puncture, especially once they were nearing their end of life. (I used the folding version as they were lighter as they didn't have a wire bead.)

    Weights:-

    • 700c x 25mm Schwalbe Marathon Plus is listed as 595g
    • 700c x 25mm Conti GP 4 Season is listed as 230g

    Ref:

Panaracer do some 700c x 26mm tyres. Long time since I've used them though.

  • Sorry, I wasn't clear enough. I have 25 mm on right now, Michelin Pro4 Endurance, which I like. Have appreciated Conti 4 Seasons too, when I could afford them. I'm just curious about how much bigger I could squeeze in. Thank you for the reply anyhow.
