How does one correctly dispose of used caustic soda in London?
Dilute with water and tip down the sink. Your waste water company will be glad of the help since it will saponify the troublesome fats other people dump down the sink.

oh dear, well I'm looking at a 2003 one now!
It does have very good clearance though, from pics of other builds it is a 26" wheelsize frame but all the builds have huge tyres and still a good inch of so of clearance, again I'm only going from pics.
The bike was designed for 125mm forks on a 26" wheel, If I drop to 100mm and can get a 27.5 rim in there should I go for a more moderate tyre?

What's the traffic been like on recent tube strike days? I remember back in the day that cycling in was a nightmare because it was just backed up cars everywhere. Is that still the case?

What's a recommended road/commuter tyre that comes in 26/27 mm? I think I can fit bigger than 25s but maybe not 28s.

I've had loads of text messages from B&Q today about various orders I haven't placed. They have a reference number but no other details. I can't see how they could be phishing. Just someone doing mis typing my number instead of theirs?

Did you get a new number recently? I keep getting threatening voice mails from a debt collection agency because my number has been recycled and I guess the previous owner of it has some financial trouble.

Nope, same for years. Very cautious where I share it. Odd but presuming just a typo.

For absolute puncture protection there's a 700c x 25mm Schwalbe Marathon Plus. But they're heavy. (I have them on my commuter/utility bike.)
For a sportier tyre still with some protection for commuting/audax I used to get ~5k (front) and ~3k (rear) out of a 25mm Conti GP 4 Season, but there was the occasional puncture, especially once they were nearing their end of life. (I used the folding version as they were lighter as they didn't have a wire bead.)
Weights:-
- 700c x 25mm Schwalbe Marathon Plus is listed as 595g
- 700c x 25mm Conti GP 4 Season is listed as 230g

Panaracer do some 700c x 26mm tyres. Long time since I've used them though.

Sorry, I wasn't clear enough. I have 25 mm on right now, Michelin Pro4 Endurance, which I like. Have appreciated Conti 4 Seasons too, when I could afford them. I'm just curious about how much bigger I could squeeze in. Thank you for the reply anyhow.

Pro 4 endurance are my go-to, on fairly skinny rims mine still come out to about 26mm. You just after something bigger? I wonder if there's a 28 available? My frame will only take the 25

I think specialized make something in a 26c.
-
• #113165
There is a 28 I just don't think it would fit!

just popped to the shed and measured the pro4 endurance 28s on my 17mm internal rims and they come up at 29mm

I'd like a list of all 9 letter English words in a flat file.
This site has them, but how can I get them?

a truer statement was never uttered.
anyone have experience with ultrasonic cleaners, I'd like one large enough to clean chainrings etc. Amazon have a variety of prices, litres etc.
-

I’ve found that the large metallic ones are useful for bike parts. Depending on the shape of the bowl, 3-5 litres is about the smallest you might want for cleaning chainrings and cassettes.
As an add-on to the above, if I put a container with liquid to float in an ultrasonic cleaner, will the cavitation effect still happen inside the container? If so, will it happen above the cleaner’s water line? And if so, could one put a chainring in a plastic bag with cleaning liquid, submerge it partially (vertically) in the cleaner, and expect it to clean more than the submerged bit?

I had one with ~1.5 litre capacity - large enough for a chain and cassette, but not chainrings.
I found it's performance underwhelming to the point that I gave it away. -

I've not tried a floating container, but a kilner type jar standing in the water / sitting on the bottom of the bowl has worked for me - most cleaners carry warnings against using flammable liquids, but a lidded jar prevents the vapour escaping in a potentially explosive way. This was admittedly for carburetor parts, so you'd need a bigger jar for a chainring.
I would guess that a flexible bag above the waterline would allow too much energy to escape for cleaning to happen?

Any recommendations for a decent dashcam? Looking for something for our work vans so only need a front one. Any features in particular to look out?

I have a VIOFO A119 V3 not needed to get the footage off it, but it seems fine and its well reviewed
