  • It 'got' me and I had to had a closer look since I discovered this thread. The problem is, once you see it you can't unsee it anymore, @Hulsroy has to carry a great burden. What makes it easier for me are these things in my opionion:

    – manuals from several companies recommand for different bars different setups (what is already said here, there's no ONE way to do it), like here: https://company.3t.bike/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/UserManual.pdf
    Salsa: *"Drop Bar Shifter and Brake Lever Positioning

    1. With the shift and brake levers loose, position the hoods to create a flat surface across the top of the handlebar. [...]"*

    – the bar itself: I had to struggle with my bars, the higher the hoods, the more the levers are 'bend out' or I don't know how to say, the brake levers can't be used in drop position anymore, I'd say because of the flair of the bar.

    Anyways, the whole weekend I tried to find a setup which works for me, way better than I had it, and as also said here, it looks 100% better than before! Next bar tape, next setting, but for now no way I am touching it again.
