  • Half the price and twice the pretty!

  • Cheers.

I'd just need to Inc budget for guards. But my dad could get those installed the same time as having a rack installed.

  • Can fit mudguards and rack to that before shipping if it suits you / you win.

  • Oh it's yours!

Right now I get it 👍

  • Bag and tool kit to go, £50 and £45 each

    Edit - bag sold!

  • bag sold, sorry!

  • Interested in the tool kit

  • All sold!

  • Thanks for this @amey, near miss

  • Probably a H+H aluminium, I can get one in a week, but sjs might have stock. I’d go with JK or SON easy wheels too

I had a look at SJS, but they're out of stock of the black. Any idea if you can get the H+H aluminium one in black? They're also out of the JK wheels 38c Easy Wheels too!

  • Yep, pop us a message / email!

  • Played with the brompton yesterday. Bike had allegedly been serviced by a brompton dealer.

The bike always felt wobbly so had a play. Checked for points of play, headset had oil like lube so cleaned and relubed. 3 speed hub loose on the spindle. Regreased with a bit of ceramic brake grease. and adjusted correctly. Then the standard clean, regrease and adjust of the front wheel spindle.

    Alot better than before.

  • Brompton tyres, i currenlty have marathon plus but in the market for something a bit faster rolling but still practical. Any reviews for the continentals, have them on my road and found them a good balance of speed and puncture resistance.

Also looking for recomendations for getting a tired frame resprayed in London / South East

  • I've used R&G Finishers in Crayford before for powder coating, rather than spraying, with good results. Mark is the guy to speak to.

  • Go with Continental Urban Contact, you won't be disappointed.

  • I've done ~5k on conti urbans since the start of the year - 3 rear punctures so far, one today :'(
I haven't tried any other tyres on my b so no comparison...

  • Ship me your bike, I’ll strip it, have it painted, rebuild it with some tan wall Conti urbans?

  • Marathon plus for all 3 of my Bromptons, no other tyres.

  • Why 3? So want to know…. And pictures?

  • Finally got around to fixing the first puncture on my (no longer so new to me) Brompton. Noticed the chain was rather worn, so swapped that out and gave the tensioner/chainring a degrease and lube. Adjusted the hub and when I next rode it there was horrific skipping. I fettled the hub adjustment every which way, but to no avail. I thought it might be a worn sprocket, but it doesn't look like it and isn't that far off pics of a fresh specimen. I know they can be picky in terms of chain length but, while I didn't count the links, the tensioner looks about right from what I can find online. I didn't do anything to the hub itself other than remove and replace the indicator chain and it was shifting fine beforehand so I'm a bit lost as to what the issue could be.

Any ideas before I open Pandora's box the hub? I know I can send the wheel to @sbbohr, but I'm not new to hub gears and am more perplexed than anything!

  • new chain old sprocket?

  • Yes that's something I'd considered but as I said, it barely looks worn. I can grab photos if useful. I guess they must wear quite quickly being so small, but still...

Unfortunately I've just placed my annual SJS order or I'd get one anyway as a spare

  • if you didnt replace the sprocket, 100% thats the issue; is it is BSR hub? 13t?
