Time of the year, I've got a mental (in my head, not massive list) collection of bridleways to avoid when it's nettle season.

The lack of cutting back through lockdown seems to be persositing. Good for nature, bad for exposed legs.

You missed it

I found that my legs went numb after the first couple of minutes and then it didn't bother me. Pretty itchy today though, any home remedies?

I once rode through about 5metres of thick nettles then went straight after to the optician for an eye test. Waiting in an air conditioned room with about 1000 nettle stings felt like a drug experience. I was probably 50 stings away from tripping balls

And don't have a bath when you get home after a day in the nettles, that is an experience....

They do say though that stinging yourself with nettles helps with hayfever, natural antihistamines for the sting or something...

I think nettle sting is histamine and acetylcholine, so maybe it triggers the anti’

Most of the bikes in this thread also trigger the anti

Bit of post work rough stuff, then dinner in the woods. I have been struggling massively to do anything other than work/parent so this was good for the head.
