  • please no tubeless propaganda

OMG Tubeless will revolutionise your life! I had really bad acne and moved to tubeless and now I am a model, flying all over the world with my tubeless and doing fashion shoots. I love my tubeless.

  • Cinturato fans, you running tubed or tubeless?

I use a 650x47 Cinturato M tubeless and they're quite a hefty tyre so even with a tube I'd expect them to have pretty decent p_nct_re protection.

  • Just sticking this here for more visibility. Would value your opinion. My current thinking is to send them back…

  • Tyres recommend for commuting?
    Requiring:

    700c x 35/38mm
Fast rolling but grippy when wet
    Tubeless
    Not costing a kidney

  • 700c x 35/38mm

    Steady on now

  • Schwalbe Marathon Almotion I think is tubeless

    Not costing a kidney

For commuting needs, I ask myself what are zero (or near enough) punctures worth, and also how much would I be spending weekly/monthly on fuel/parking/transport tickets if I wasn't cycling, then I quickly pony up for excellent tyres.

  • Have fitted a bike seat now.. will need all that extra volume

  • Yeah, same, currently on GP 4seasons 28s for the same reason, but you know.. It's a thought process, you don't want to start at the expensive end, despite getting there regardless :)

  • More specifically?

  • I bet @andyp didn't exceed the UCI tyre width limit for his kids

  • Vittoria terreno zero, or dry for off-road corners. Hutchinson are fairly cheap and decent tires too.

  • Vittoria terreno zero, or dry

    Love these tyres for offroading.

However, commute is 100% on road through London's greatest potholes, manholes covers, kerb and slippery paint finishes, in my mind I would rather have a uniform tyre thread, not one that sends me flying if I hit a wet manhole cover with the bike not perfectly vertical

  • Hutchinson fusion 5 all season.

  • I'd say the zero is almost slick, but never tried a pair in the wet. Also gravel kings, loved them but too fragile, wonder if they're better with the puncture belt.

  • Looking for a 700 x 25 clincher tyre with tan / gum sidewalls which won't puncture too easily but also fairly fast rolling.. any recommendations?!

  • Panaracer pasela. Or one of the Planet X offerings that look similar (also made by panaracer I think)

  • I had some (PX) Jack Brown Mile Munchers 25mm they lasted a good 6,000miles of hard use right up until they fell apart. Not the fastest tyre, but not too slow for the price (17.99 each) and durability.

  • The old Schwalbe Ones were good for this, not sure about the latest Pro One offerings.

  • 650b tyre options, mostly road and canal/river path, with the odd foray into the woods on likely dry days. Frame can take max 47mm, but looking for something maybe in the 40-42 range to be able to run mudguards, or just plump for 47 and deal with the skidmarks

  • I have a pair of WTB Horizons for sale, more roady, but have handled towpath and dry dirt/bridleway fairly well. They're 47mm
For when I put mudguards on, 42mm, I've gone for the ever dependable Pasela.

  • Vittoria hyper voyager or what ever they are called now, bought a few sets of planet x when on clearance years ago, still in the second set. They do all the things.

  • Haven’t they stopped making the Voyager Hyper?

  • Considering running a Pirelli Cinturato H in the back, and a Cinturato M in the front, both in 45mm, for GBduro. Anyone on here with experience with the GB divide route who can weigh in on this?

I initially settled on WTB Riddlers but after riding them for a while I feel they are extremely sluggish and I hate them for long road stretches.

  • Vittoria terreno zero or dry in 47.
Dunno about 42, not much around in that size. Maybe Rene herse
