  • Currently running around in a 126 that I am modifying for a local.

    Panda 30 head and carb then going to polish chrome bumpers and early seats.

  • Needs pics!

  • I wish I could post it over! Worried that the next owner will not keep it well and it'll end up as scrap. I have put a lot of effort into keeping it reliable and nice to drive.

  • Drove the 996 for the first time this year, it’s now in the airport carpark and will hopefully have enough charge in its somewhat new battery to start the engine on Friday

  • The plastic bumpers really look out of place in my opinion, especially on a white car.

    Paintwork is allegedly original, lives outside and just had a wash.

  • That would be gutting. But of course you cannot think about it if you let it go. Hope you get good vibes from buyer

  • sweet. I would keep the black bumpers on it

  • Why would you keep the massive plastic bumpers?

    This is the best looking 126. Armwrestle to disagree ;)

  • What’s required to drive in France, and is it more complicated than just buying one of these?

    AA Euro Travel Kit AA6318 - for Driving in France/Europe - Includes Zipped Storage Bag and UK Identifier, Multicolour https://amzn.eu/d/6HuVNRS

    I’ve read and heard lots of different things. I believe you need to display ‘UK’ vs ‘GB’, which this kit would cover.

    Would I need extra hi-viz for all passengers? Do you really need breathalysers? I have one spare headlight bulb at home, if I pack that, does that cover me if I’m stopped? (Edit: just realised there’s some sort of bulb set in the AA kit anyway).

    Someone I spoke to even mentioned having a ‘green card’, but pretty sure that’s not required: https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-insurance/driving-abroad

  • I've been pulled several times on UK plates. Never asked for anything. Never has a GB sticker.
    Green card is for insurance and now needed I think with vrexit.
    Having stuff off the list is sensible incase you puncture and have to change a tyre in the dark etc, hiviz, triangles bulbs, but I wouldn't worry if you don't.

  • I don’t think you need a green card anymore , I think that went last summer .
    Take your V5
    Rest is sensible precautions.
    Uk sticker or number plate sticker I think now rather than GB

  • I think hi-vis, breathalysers, triangle are compulsory IIRC. Bulb set also - however it doesn't matter if it's not the right one for your car, as long as you have one. I've moved the same old set that I bought about 6 cars ago over to every new car I've had, I think the car I've got now is all fancy sealed LED lights so I've got no clue where to start with that 😅

  • Moan: the amount of selfish tossers sitting in their cars - parked- usually with Diesel engines running just so they can keep their usually overweight selves cool with the air conditioning is unbelievable.
    I feel like stealing their keys and other random acts of vandalism/violence

  • Yeah, this really annoys me too. In residential streets. Often with the window open and AC full blast.

  • No need for a breathalyser any more.

    Hi Viz jacket is supposed to be in the and easily to hand, so keep mine in a door pocket;
    Bulb kit, which a joke as so many cars have no working bulbs;
    Warning triangle and first aid kit;
    If you see an accident you are supposed to stop and offer first aid I think. Good samaritan laws ring a bell.

  • The AC in our 2017 Ateca is not as cold as it used to be.

    Regassing...DIY job for a reasonably practical person?

  • We just got our Skoda regassed at kwik fit for £60, took an hour, seemed fine.
    How much are the kits? Can't be a nice job, aren't the chemicals horrible?

  • AC uses gasses that are not environmentally friendly. Best taking it to the pros.

  • There's laws and regulations around it. The fluorinated gases used have very high Global Warming Potential and are only supposed to be bought/sold and worked with by registered and qualified individuals and businesses: https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/fluorinated-gas-f-gas-guidance-for-users-producers-and-traders

    You could probably do it illegally! https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-59061805

  • No. Not a DIY job as the gases are not environmentally.

    The AC system needs to be tested to see if it holds preasure/vacuum. The AC system also contains a special oil is added to the system for the pump lubrication.

  • Old school ac = open your windows👍🏼

  • With wind deflectors for the full euro fun.

  • @Dammit got an order in yet?
