• Make sure to a get a Top Swing/Conventional Swing, but the mech you've linked looks like it should do the job nicely.
    MTB doubles are vnice imo as you don't have to spend silly money on cassettes

    yes my thought about this! saves me the most money in the long run, and spreads the wear over the casette - on my 1x with a dinner plate i just use 3 gears most days.

    Aside from the inital faff of installing a FD at the correct height and angle, I've never had any issues with them in friction setups.

    I've found a gap of 10 teeth to be very usable as well.
    So much that I never converted the triple on my Pelago to a sub-compact double.

    Plus the symmetry of two shifters is easy on the eyes.
