I'm very rusty here, but when you copy the chart to the clipboard, it should then paste as vector art to anything that understands vectors, so you can then delete the bits you don't need.
One issue is that Powerpoint/Excel don't support copying sub-elements of a chart, only the whole chart. There is/was a workaround, involving an interim copy and paste as picture, but I think there was some trick.
Actual curves are a problem though, we always redrew pie charts (I know).
Ilustrator used to include a really basic chart feature as well.

Once in Illustrator you can use the Group Selection Tool to pick it apart by sub-bits (click multiple times).

For one blissful release it included a complex chart editor! Disappeared in an update and never seen again, thanks CC. I don't think the chart tool as-is has been updated since 1988. There's this which I keep wanting to give a go, but I'm yet to get around to it.
If you do a lot of % pie charts, the opentype font Chartwell is good for quick + dirty efforts.
How do I export just the line in this exact position from powerpoint? I.e. transparent png/whatev with just a red line running through it.
I've tried changing the plot and chart area to no fill.
Double clicking the background just offers solid/gradient/picture/pattern. If I hit solid for example and assign a colour to it it's no good, dragging the transparency toggle to 100 just reverts it to the attached with white bg.
