• They are decent but they're either trying to rope you into wearing it 24/7 or you feel you're getting half baked data.

If you want to maintain a strict exercise regime they are helpful. After about a year of wearing it you know roughly what it would say anyway.

As a watch they are not really 'good looking'. The cheap ebay straps are fun and work fine.

  • As a watch they are not really 'good looking'.

I saw a grown man yesterday in a talkshow, well dressed with shirt and suit jacket, he had an apple watch on and it looked so stupid really.
Like, very out of place and "gimmicky", for lack of a better word.

I used to think they do look cool - but they really only look cool on younger people with modern, casual, "fresh" clothes.
And also they really only look cool when the display is actually on - when it's just that big shiny black shape it's not that appealing in my opinion.

That being said I know a few elderly people with heart issues, and their kids got them one for monitoring heart rate and it works really well they say and they love the thing 👍

  • Yep, the fall detection is ideal for particularly vulnerable people as well. My 75ish y/o father in law has one, and I’ll be strongly encouraging my mum & dad before they start getting a bit more unsteady.

  • I replaced my 1st gen one with a gen 6 in stainless steel last year. When I tried on a few at the store the stainless looked much better. It's a fair bit more money but I use it a lot and it's a great way to have music while running without carrying a phone.
