Nothing to do about real-world surnames or genders - most usernames don't reflect either of these, so how could I infer anything about who's taken their spouse's real-world surname?
How about people adapting their usernames? Betcha love that. Hatbeard used to refer to his other half as Hatbroad, so how about RagnarHairyBra, ColinTheBlonde or stone- OK, maybe not.
