I've only just seen this Peacock version as well but all their new dials have amazing textures. Nice that they are mixing it up a bit. It doesn't matter that I'm late to the party on these as i can't afford any of them ☹️

Yeah they are not cheap. I really liked this one from 2019. Seem to hold their value.

Wow, is that the stock strap?! Not a fan. I regret shelling out for the Sinn silicon deployant strap for my 556 as it’s also way too thick for the watch head. If you can be arsed I’d look for a bracelet, there are two versions IIRC, it’s how I wear mine 90% of the time.

I forgot to say I think it looks nice btw, great all rounder.

I like a bracelet so it works for me but I'm no connoisseur of mk1 speedies.

Although Speedy’s are super versatile with straps, I think they always look best on a bracelet. Looks cracking dude.

I got an Earth - I was on holiday in Edinburgh and walked in and bought with no queue. Not my first choice but it’s grown on me. Also not peeled off the protective film yet 🤠

The polar white dial/black hands one is strong… 41mm… I like it.

It’s also 12.3mm thick which is pretty slim for a Seiko, definitely will help with wearability.

What will trigger the removal of the protective film?

It is a warm and sunny day - I reckon he’s waiting for the nighttime temperature drop before removing the film that holds the shape of the watch. In full sunlight the plastic could easily go full Dali.

That puts paid to my plans to source one from Manila.....

Decided its not for me. It's just too big and utilitarian for my tastes. But yes, that's 100% stock. Awful proportions on that strap.
