• I'm back! Busy period and then I got injured - torn hamstring - which meant a lot of refocussing had to be done. 10 weeks into recovery now and been riding for about 4, which has given me the appetite to get this finished and ridden!

The seatpost & tyres did sell in the end, but I haven't sold the old bars & stem yet. I ended up getting some mid-level Zipp bars from CRC for £20, plus Lifeline £5 bar tape and an old Giant stem I had lying around - works just fine. I'm up & running for a net outlay of £147 based on the cost of the original bike, what I have actually had to buy and what I got for all the original parts.

I've done 3 rides on it over the past 24hrs and whilst it's no featherweight it is a great fit for me and has a strong power transfer, no noticeable flex and even with the pads set super close it doesn't rub the rim when pushing up a hill out of the saddle. Very pleased and I can see it becoming one of those favourites that you just always end up riding.
