5 years later- There's quite a few down South West ish.
Particularly in the Otter Valley.Anyhow- Some idiots from London will be coming down for a training camp in the aforementioned valley. If you're down that way @JonoMarshall, @rhb, @gabes?
(not sure who else)- and you're free Sunday afternoon/ monday/ Tuesday of this week- it would be good to ride/ drink beers in the resplendent glory of the Otter and Blackdowns. -

Cheers for the tag but I'm back up in Manc now, visit Devon from time to time though.
Would love to live down there, enjoy the riding and beers!

Ah sorry- saw the Coffee post about Honiton...

No worries figured that was the case, hope you get some good training done there.

@eyebrows Yep, I'm here, Couple of valleys over from Honiton towards Axminster. Send me a message with your plans over the weekend and I'll try to ride over and meet you for a ride.
Devon county council have just done their annual 'we hate cyclists' gravel skim of loads of lanes, so some corners are properly lethal right now.

Has anyone in Devon got any recommendations for camp sites/static caravan parks that are nice and nearish to a beach?

It was a few years ago but a mate and I camped on a site at Blackpool Sands near Dartmouth. Lovely beach and the campsite had all you needed.

What @jj72 said. I’m a local, and my in laws live in Stokenham so when we pop down with the dog we tend to walk through this campsite on the way down to Torcross: https://www.caravanclub.co.uk/club-sites/england/devon-and-cornwall/devon/start-bay-club-campsite

The best Devon beaches are on this stretch. I'm a local too.

Family type? East prawle are a bit of slog from beach.
Waterside Static Park in Paignton, quite quiet. Near some nice beaches(Broadsands).
Slapton Camping and Caravan site.
Thurlestone if surfing is wanted.
Spotted an abandoned bike in Braunton in September that could be an old Excel frame.
Unfortunately I was in a bit of a rush and only got a picture of the side of it (and stupidly - not the head badge!).
So I was hoping that someone on here either lives (or knows someone who does) in North Devon that wouldn't mind taking some more pics of it!?
Bit of a longshot I know, but if you can help I would be very grateful!
Ta,
Simon
