I'm so tempted as it's almost everything I need, but connected GPS in this day and age seems so backwards when you can get an £80 fitness tracker with GPS built in.

Yeah I wasn't impressed with that but in the real world, my partner will never use it without her phone and she'll be finding the location using her phone maps anyway so it'll work fine.
Not for everyone though

I read somewhere (either a review or on their website) that it wasn't compatible with other mounts (although it does look pretty similar)

Couldn't you butcher their mount and stick a Garmin quarter turn one on it?
