Speaking of Black Bays and straps, I'm looking for something for mine which should be easy to find but I'm struggling.
Want a fairly chunky leather strap, either dark brown or very dark/distressed grey, 22mm lug tapering to 18mm and pretty plain.
I'm finding quite a lot on US sites but not finding much in the UK. Any suggestions?

Hirsch make pretty good straps, used them as replacements on my Breitling when it was on a leather strap

I think the official Tudor black and gold straps may be more prone to fading as they're not even deep black when new and do fade to brown. My AD said they often need replacing after 2-3 years but like anything depending on how much you wear it and how it's looked after. I think I'm just going to buy a selection of cheaper ones and change them up.

I have a murts special, but IIRC he only does straight, rather than tapered.
Banging looking starp though

£400 for a seiko 5!

Cheers all. I asked murts at some point in the past but, as you say, he only does straight. The hirsch one is the kind of thing I'm looking for but it only tapers to 20mm rather than 18mm.

Check out Two Stitch Straps.
They aren't the cheapest (although not the most expensive either), but they are individually handmade to a much higher standard than the usual stuff and a Tudor is worth spending a bit more on a good strap for IMO. If you ask I am sure they will make one to your exact specification as they have done with me a few times (eg a particular taper, or a different combination of colour / stitching style / stitch colour than their standard offerings, etc).
I like this one and I think it would look pretty nice on a Black Bay. Their standard taper on that one is 22 to 18.

Not sure about the tapering but Aliexpress has straps so cheap you can just buy a bunch to see which you prefer

I like these. A lot. Will be hard pressed to not pick one up tbh… no pre orders that I can see in the U.S. yet, though.

I just think they're really good fun. Praying to the alignment gods now.

Thanks for posting.
There's a lot going on, but being what it is, it'll be straight forward to tone down.

What's even more surprising is that you got it at the airport. They usually get all the shitters.

I walked into the Rolex concession to see if they had any sports SS , they never do .They said they don’t sell any walk in at all anymore….. but you can register interest , but unless you have buying history etc however they had one watch which they said you didn’t need history for( I was earwigging and thought he mentioned Wimbledon?)
Tbh although I love a Rolex, and a no date Sub would be my ultimate, I’m not keen at all on the way they do this so I walked into WOS and had a look at the Tudor.
I had been told by my local AD I’d have to wait until the new year for a Two Tone and put down a 50 % deposit ( no thanks) and they didn’t have one to try on , so I was surprised to see it in there,I tried it on. I was more surprised to find I could buy it. -

I mean, even in 2019 pre-craziness, the guy at the Rolex store said he'd worked there for three years and had one sports reference come through. A white gold GMT. Lol.
I was - forgot the damn login!
