I got the kit from Aliexress pre brexit, it was shipped from EU and the 350w with 17ah batt was exactly £599.
If you are in London I can help you install if you want. Its straightforward but to do it neatly/nerd out, watch some videos and read some forums :P I used a shrink cable net, battery mounting will be straightforward on yours, I didnt have cage mounts.
I had Alfine so didnt bother with installing the gear sensor as with Alfine you have to stop pedalling to change gear anyway.
I also didnt bother installing the brake sensor, that tells the motor to stop when you actuate levers. Who pedals and brakes at the same time?!

I do, all the time! When I’m doing tight corners and technical bits of maneuvering at slow speed. Although I don’t think I’d want the motor to turn off if it’s a mid drive. Id just pedal really softly. What’s the torque sensor like on the bafang?

Good knowledge, cheers. Reading up on installation, the brake sensor sounded like the faffiest bit - magnets?!?! - but if you can skip that and not die then great.

It’s a FollowMe. I’m not aware of any cheaper knock offs.
Next step is a bafang, as available destinations are currently limited by the various fucking massive hills of Sheffield. @amey you did the bafang thing, right? What kit did you get / where from?
I 100% see an actual tandem in the future.
