Try some out even if you don't plan on buying new. I was pretty disappointed with the shimano systems we tried, Bosch felt much more refined. Easy to chip too, if you're going on holiday to the US: https://www.ebiketuning.com/speedchip-v3-for-bosch.html

Was it an 8 year old e6000? Anything from shimano newer than that is massively nicer.
Do get a lot of feedback from folks with bosch that.. Whilst sometimes they have higher peak torque, unless you put an aftermarket map on it, the bosch gen 3 mostly don't offer that full torque to you unless you are standing up on the pedals pretty much. Whereas shimano when set to boost /turbo, gives all it can pretty much all the time. So quite a difference.
In gen 4 bosch though they are very very similar. Would basically not worry between an ep8 or a gen 4 cx/cargo, would have to be on a dyno to tell the difference.
ebike curious, fancy something that will just add x wattz on top of whatever I'm doing, say 100w but ideally without cutting out at 15mph. Think it'd bring a smile back to the 16mile each way commute on windy, wet or winter days.
Seems Shimano steps e8000 are popular for 'off-road' or use 'in the USA', wink wink.
Omnium E-Mini-Max WiFi looks hella fun and since I don't own a car, could double as a 'lazy' day commuter and local utility but ££££.
Anyway, random stream of thought, don't think the ideal solution exists for people who are already reasonably fit. Understandably not the target audience.
