  • Any thoughts or suggestions for long miles?................
    i'm looking at
    Lusso carbon v2
    Endura FS260-Pro 2
    DHB Aeron

  • Dhb Aeron are great and comfy. I’ve got fancy stuff too but still prefer to wear these sometimes.

Can’t comment on the others you’ve mentioned.

  • Paria are decent.

  • Yeah big thumbs up for DHB. Rode rapha for many years believing it was the best because it was the most expensive. Now riding only in Aeron bibs and loving them

  • Currently enjoying Assos mille GT which seem to be well under £100 on wiggle at the moment

  • I've got those Lusso Carbon V2. Pad is great and the shorts feel premium.

  • Got a pair of the new aeron 2.0s last week as off-road shorts I wouldn't mind wearing out. Wore them for a 2 dayer over the weekend and really impressed. More high end features than the original aerons I have from a few years back.

  • Morvelo are great.

  • +1 for Morvelo and the Lusso carbons but my comfiest bibs are these https://www.bike24.com/p2233637.html
I picked them up 1/2 price as well from Sportsshoes.com
Comfier than my Castelli, Rapha and Assos

  • Jumping on this, anyone recommend a pair that has a thinner pad, but still good for long days? Hate thick chamois when your walking around etc.

  • Any pair of tri shorts will have a thinner and narrower chamois. Zoot are often 1/2 price and have a very thin but also not very padded chamois. My TYR shorts have a nice slim but padded chamois and Huub have a nice pad but are short in the leg if your not wearing overshorts.

  • That's a good idea.

  • Santini bibs have a gel pad that’s thinner than normal shorts, I’ve had a couple of pairs and they’ve lasted years. there likely to be a bit more than £100 but there worth it.

  • I used to really like Morvelo shorts, but then I bought a pair from their current range that were not great, and now they don't do their no quibble returns policy

  • they don't do their no quibble returns policy

Really, I had a pair of arm warms that fell apart at the start of the year and they just sent me some new ones based on some photos.

What was wrong with the shorts ?

  • Maybe they've picked it up again?

Without getting into too much detail the fit on the front would have been more suited to a Ken doll.

  • no quibble returns policy

Tell me more about this please. My favourite Morvelo shorts have gone see-through at the back and either my Google-Fu is poor or the only no quibble I can see relates to returning something within 14 days of purchase.

  • First ride today in the £45 Van Rysel bib shorts with pockets and pretty impressed with them. Was my longest ride for a while and my arse was kept very comfortable.

They don't have the rear pockets that my Wapha Core ones do but I never use those pockets anyway.

  • Bioracer are up there. Someone elsewhere on the forum swerved me away from Rapha etc in favour of these and I’m well impressed. You’re looking at about £60.

  • In terms of thinner shorts, I opted for the Sportful In Liner, as they seem to be £40 down from 80. Very comfortable, fit nicely. (I went XL with a 33" waist).

Going to order a couple more whilst they're cheap and still around.

  • Another happy dhb Aeron user here. Perfectly fine for 12-16 hour days off road and long road rides.

I'm also really impressed with Planet X 365 shorts. The only reason I wouldn't recommend them is that they're quite high at the front so that taking a leak is a right pain involving lots of contortionism.

  • who is the resident Endura expert here? These look good, I cant tell what pad width I'd need.

  • Wouldn't claim expertise but I've got the Pro SL long in a medium (32" waist) with the wide pad. I use them happily with a Brooks B17N and a San Marco Rolls saddles. At 6'6" the extra length is just enough. Sigma have them for 90 quid at the moment.

  • Universal colours mono are the best bibs I've owned. Pad is reasonably thin and they come up fairly short, which I like. Under 100 for the sigma branded ones and there's an offer code at sigma arm.

  • i got a size small with a narrow pad and they are fine with an arione.

they are good shorts and i'd happily buy them again but i'd probably try the medium pad next time. narrow is fine though (for my arse+saddle).
