Yeah it's like 2 bits of straws, not amazing in looks but well made and it should be secure and forgotten under bartape

No, I tried. I will sand them at some point but have no need for them right now

Cool but tatty Rock Lobster frame for £75

Also picking some bars up and planning to strip the logo.
I've had success with nail polish remover/acetone on other logos that aren't under a lacquer, otherwise you'd have to sand them.Let us know how you get on! That is one ugly logo
-
• #4914
It's a sanding job for sure
-
• #4915
Also it might be fine but I wouldn't go putting acetone or other chemicals anywhere near composite parts
-
• #4916
Acetone is fine on cured carbon parts. Just don't use MEK as it can soften epoxy resin.
-
• #4917
Yeah true that. Nail Polish remover is fairly mild.
Are they good quality parts? I.e stiff not flexy -
• #4918
If feeling lazy (my default mode) you could sand the logo a little, just enough to roughen the clear coat on top of the letters, then use a little matt black paint or a marker pen to make the logo matt black. Then you'd hardly notice it.

These are only worth about half of that btw. Produced by Merlin and licenced name I believe, very light frame but not of USA Rock Lobster provenance.

I got one of the EVO91 seatposts. My notes:
- Logo graphics definitely not coming off easily.
- Tilting base (1) part of the saddle rail clamp felt pretty flimsy and had a very small contact area so I replaced it with the one from my previous seatpost
- The coloured tube (2) which the bolts thread through can actually slide fore and aft when the bolts aren't tightened. Discovered this too late after really struggling to get the right angle on the front bolt's head with no clearance from the seat post.
- Between the new CF post and new Ti rail saddle, saved 120g on my previous setup even though my old post was 50 mm shorter. Made these changes for comfort either way, but still interesting.
... I'm ok to use this for bikepacking, right?

Ah that was why! I was struggling to get my torque wrench in there and have been terrified by the idea of cracking the rail / not tightening down enough

I'm torn on this. Only £28, but point one you describe sounds like it's not worth it for the weight saving. How's the comfort factor? Significantly better?
Also, anyone tried the bars yet?
I'm thinking of doing this too. Do we know they're removable? With acetone?
