Neither are defensible.

Picking sides when both are awful is dumb, but also reflects the bizarrely extreme divisiveness of modern living.

Maybe they're all assholes and there are no saints.

No-one has the monopoly on being a jerk.

That was in relation to a defence to defamation so I think you need to be a little careful about about implying a criminal burden of proof.

Sorry, how does “found to be justifiably described as a wife beater” imply a criminal burden of proof? If I was implying a criminal burden of proof I’d have just said “found to be a wife beater”. I was literally being careful about it.
