If you're ever in the market for another I really recommend that restrap 7 litre bag, really good and doesn't' move around/swing at all I've found.

I was looking for a smaller bag years ago, bought an Ortlieb and it was missing the parts to mount it so I used the Viscacha again. There's nothing wrong with the Vis really and it's probably useful to have the extra capacity spare but I like the full waterproofness and ability to grab the drybag off the bike. Wonder if it would work with my dropper post MTB

Is there a tailfin alternative?
I need to commute with laptop from a few months and seems the best option.

tubus?

Unless I’m mistaken the dis o is the only only option for no mounts and even that doesn’t do thru axle

oh, then yeah, tailfin

Carradice sqr slim worked well for me for a laptop carrier

I used this with a laptop for a few years. Takes a full change of clothes and the laptop. I did leave shoes at work though…

Carbon bike? if not, Ortlieb just released a quick rack and you can buy a seatstay kit

JFC, I'm sure there's a thread somewhere on this forum for racks, kindly fuck off over there, eh? 😉

How north?
Fucking freezing beyond the wall today.

Didn’t get any further than the Humber, as no trains available to bring me back from planned 1 way ride to The Border. So a round East of England 3&1/2 days 515km trip, London - Peterborough - Horncastle - Caister - Bridge - Brigg - Lincoln - Grantham - Huntingdon - Bedford - London. Lovely weather, except cold and freezing today

I'd second SQR slim for laptop.

I'm after a hydration bladder for a framebag. What are people using?
Just any old thing like Hydrapak or are the framebag specific one like Apidura a better option?
I guess width in the bag is an important consideration. -

Hydrapak or platypus in my road framebag. Have a note to check out the Apidura one (must've seen it in a video) but that would only be useful in a horizontal setup like Revelate I guess? Or a bag with no divider.

Just packing for my DIY TnR ride and I've fitted a dynamo and light so I don't have to worry about power to devices (or light if I ride early or late). Anyway, the tent/mat/quilt bag is sagging the harness a bit like usual but it's resting on the light but I think a voile will sort it out. Finding a long enough voile strap I can get in a week is a challenge, any ideas what else I can use?

Two?

Post a photo of the setup

In a pinch I used something like this I had in the garage to hold my bag off the back wheel: [https://www.amazon.co.uk/RIO-Direct-Tensioning-Adjustable-Motorcycle/dp/B08FJ161RL/) - it actually worked pretty well and was quite light. I think the one in the link is bad quality, but there are lots of others if you search 'tie-down straps'

Unpacked it a bit ago as I didn't want to leave the down in there for the next week; will repack tomorrow morning before work and take a photo. Anyway, Oveja Negra bar harness with a dry bag. The harness is designed for a little sag to give space to grip the bars and until I used the light that was fine, never touched the wheel but the light becomes pointless if it's blocked by the bag. Strapping would lift it up I think... anyway, stay tuned for a photo.

Use a piece of innertube?
If you can get it to work nicely.
Because swearing (at knots that don't open with tired fingers in the dark) is a possibility with bikepacking gear
I've seen similar pockets on the side of a saddle bag made by @PatchCCW at Collins Cycle Works (Instagram). You could send him a message about making you something up?
