I've recently got into film photography, inspired by my partner who studied it at uni. I bought an Olympus Trip 35 to get me started and have loved it so far. They can be had for £50-100 in perfect working order. Lovely design to them, and simple to use. Most of the recent photos on my instagram are from my first couple of rolls.
Some portraits here too...

I just got a reasonably mint condition Canon A-1 with a 50mm lens for about 100 quid plus shipping from Japan. Not had time to shoot a roll yet but it's a step up from my Fuji HD-R rugged point and shoot (which in itself is actually totally fine).

Thank you. That Olympus looks like the sort of thing.

Looking to buy compact 35mm point and shoot as taking my M3 with goggles is a bit too much on bikepacking trip.
Looking for something a bit nicer but simple and with the flash. Does anyone have something that they're looking to sell? -

I've used https://filmdev.co.uk for probably the last 8 years and pretty much never had a bad experience, good price and good turn around. Recently switched to https://www.traiaphotolab.co.uk as it saves me posting and they're very nice people, decent results so far.

Some Pyrenees action on a Fuji Silvi and Kodak Gold. Having not bought any film for a few years and shooting all of my fridge stock, this is pretty much the only colour film I could find for under a tenner a roll.

This is sad news, I've used them a fair amount over the last 20 years.

Woolwich Dockyard!
I didn't even click the link as I assumed it would be somewhere not-London. Thanks to your reply I will also use them soon :)

So gutting. Did something similar (but requiring more stupidity on my part) at friends' wedding years ago. Still full of regret.

Its so fucking annoying but its a hard lesson. Annoying as there was images on it that I wanted to use for something else.

Possibly a little less supple too, but it's actually very comfortable.
I think if I had access to a sewing machine I might have done the ends differently, but pretty happy with the result considering the limited materials to hand.

Stupidly put my only two rolls of film in my hold bag when flying to France. Are they fucked?!?
-
• #22945
No, it's only a problem if you do it repeatedly and with film above 800 ISO.

That’s what I read for carry-on baggage but it said hold luggage is a definite no-no as it goes through multiple scanners that are much stronger
-

I guess it depends on the airport / their scanners.
I was told by a security guy a couple years ago that the "modern" scanners are way less harsh.
They also say that the radiation during the flight itself is much higher than the scanners themselves - never really figured out why exactly, but long story short I had a lot of film with me on flights, and sometimes in hold luggage as well and basically it has been fine, apart from some ISO 1600 / 3200 and some rolls I took back and forth like 10 times, which were a bit foggy . -

Thanks for the info. I’m in the middle of nowhere so getting new film isn’t likely anyway so might as well give it a go

Radiation at altitude is enough to damage digital camera sensors, in so much as it might take out one or 2 pixels. Lots of solar radiation is diminishing in power as it travels through earths atmosphere, hence less damaging at lower altitudes.

it might take out one or 2 pixels
you're kidding, right
Hmm need to find somewhere else to process film, any recommendations for somewhere cost effective?
