I've just got back from a trip in north california and my overall takeaway was 'how on earth has any sort of cycling culture managed to exist here'

has it though? What we see could just be a tiny tiny fraction of a super niche subculture .. like on social media.

I saw plenty of people riding, that made it all the more boggling tbh. Lake Tahoe, people getting nudged out by enormous 3-axle pickups and still smiling, chatting to the rider on their wheel. Its a whole can of worms of course, and I wouldnt want to distract from the elastomer vs SID chat
