not a coffin
insulation below you is always squished, so doesn't loft, so doesn't keep you warm, so is pointless
footbox is less restrictive
accomodates people that sleep on their side or front
etc etc

What about air coming in through the gaps? That’s what always annoys me in my normal bed too when it’s really cold.
