Agreed. They beat every serious contender for the trophy on their way to winning it. Ridiculous! And the city game was something else.

Yep 2nd half Liverpool had two big chances but after them it didn't feel like Liverpool would score.Madrid were so much better in the 2nd half. Pleased for Ancelotti. Madrid have scraped and clung on to get to this final quite amazing.
How the fuck does Michael Owen keep getting pundit jobs he is terrible. Gerrard is surprisingly good in the pundit stakes -

Courtois was amazing, how tall is he?!?!!
Liverpool should have done a bit better really, but a good season none the less. Looking forward to the charity shield!
Lads look like they might need a rest. -

He sounds like a better pundit than a manager. Early days still.
Real Madrid won that trophy fair and square. That said Madrids goal was definitely helped by a total communication meltdown by Liverpool. You don’t get ghosted by one of the in-form players like that in a CL final.
Good news apparently Chelsea are set to get £20m from Real Madrid after Courtois and Hazard won the CL.

Well at least that'll pay the final installment for Kepa.

good luck to forest today

i'd say we had a good season
we were just two games / three goals away from perfection / 4 trophies and an unprecedented achievement
that draw against tottenham ( for example ) and the madrid final, people saying we are failures for not winning ALL the things are doing us a major disservice,
and sad to think sadio might be leaving us today, my fave player of the klopp era, good luck wherever you go sir

Second season in a row where the European cup has been won by the team that set up with a low block and counter-attack, and let the other side take the initiative. Awaiting the thought piece on what it means from Jonathan Wilson.
I thought the Madrid defence was excellent last night, as well as Courtois being man of the match.
On a Liverpool perspective, I don't think there is anything tactically different they should have done. Maybe Firmino should have started, as he found some spaces between the lines when he came on and started to orchestrate the attack. Luis Diaz had his worst game so far.

So these Mentalty Monsters and Klopp's brand of heavy metal football, ends up with them equalling the feat of the legendary 1993 Arsenal team. Linighan and Jensen can sleep a bit easier I feel.

The reports that Andy Robertson’s club issued tickets being rejected as fake by the stadium is going to be hilarious to watch unwind.

He will probably blame Ronaldo.

Good luck to Huddersfield and the Florists. Playoff final is the best/worst football day.
-
• #161616
Yeah good luck to Huddersfield

Only caught the second half, was good.
Keita should have scored or passed.
Courtois was great.
Real played the way they had to play, took their chance, and now bale has won big cup more than most teams -
• #161618
Congratulations Forest

• #161619
Fucking good riddance to Jon Moss. I didn’t mind who won that but Huddersfield have been done over to not get a penalty there.
Assume his mates in the VAR booth didn’t want to ruin his last game.

What a season.
Promoted.
Derby relegated.
Battered Leicester.
12 points next season please. -
• #161621
Huddersfield were awful, but should have had 2 penalties imo.
-
• #161622
Anyone know how I can opt out of the lottery to be the next Watford manager?
-
• #161623
Agreed. Two pens I reckon. If Forest have that VAR luck in the PL they should win it.
-
• #161624
Am happy they are back in the PL mind. Like most neutrals I suppose
