Its really not. Fair enough the cranks are chunky and pretty ugly.
But the individual components are ridiculously close to the red axs weights. I have a Rival FD that’s about 15 grams heavier than the Red FD on my road bike.
Same with the RD it’s something like 30 grams difference.
The rival cassettes are on par or lighter than 12 speed ultegra cassettes
Edit - the RD is closer to 60 grams heavier than red, but still 🤷♀️
