Critical Mass London: last friday of the month South Bank by National Theatre, 6.30pm

Saw a video of it looking pretty huge! I ended up staying in B Right On for a bit too long to make it.

What was causing the bottlenecks? I wonder if I’m guessing right: I do feel that the propensity for the mass riders, in the last few years, near the front to filter through taffic jams really frustrating - so much better to wait behind, mass up, and turn off the road with traffic when it’s a street big enough. Course I might be way off.

You're pretty much right - filtering and also taking the lane of the oncoming traffic. Saw the same thing at mass on Friday, a perfect example was tower bridge when for some reason the mass ended up taking both lanes up to about half way over the bridge whilst blocked the oncoming cars and then inturn having a bottle neck.

Yesterday was mainly far too densely populated, people need to space out a bit.
Surprised I didn't see more people come off.

I had a red Bullitt with two SBs stacked on it with cargo lashings, with the RF transmitter on top. I had airport ear protectors on.

Yes a shame about the other loud system. The IBikeLondon crew further back in the crowd were able to connect to Dom W's facebook live stream, and then they put that over their speakers & radio connections.

It's really annoying when people do that instead of stopping and waiting. On Tower Bridge, it's a very bad idea. Unless there's a crash up ahead somewhere, it doesn't take that long to clear.

Was that Critical Mass near Parliament around 8:50pm? I saw a large group of cyclists being circled by those masked thieves on electric motocross bikes. I would be shitting myself riding home alone from that event.

Yes that was probably it. There was some kind of split that happened earlier in the route, I think.
