  • Which one is this by the way? Looks different from the Jtek one and the cube one

  • Afaik it’s the cube one, got one off bikester recently to mount a basket on my daughter’s bike.

  • Thanks! Yeah. I need to buy a clamp on one for the rails for my son. I like basket mounted one for myself because it keeps it out of the way as well.

  • A Carradice Junior (thanks Tammy) is just the right size for a handlebar bag but it's too floppy. So I have bodged a stiffener for it out of an Ikea desk mat.

  • Nice work, drainage hole in the bottom and it's a portable urinal.

  • wald on my rockhopper

Don’t omit strapping the rack back to either the head tube or the bars in case the crown bolt comes adrift with catastrophic consequences. And put some threadlock or a nyloc on it too.

  • I actually ended up de-bodging this and getting the forum-favourite canti-mounted rack from sjs. It sits the basket lower and closer to the bars which feels loads better, and it seems more stable.

  • Thumbs up

  • Is there an equivalent rack for bikes with no canti studs but a million braze ons? Cheaper than blb and nitto kinda thing

  • Not sure it's quite what you're after but I've got one of these that you could have for cheap if it'd do the job!

  • Very kind! I'm going to try and keep the fork leg area clear for dry bags, but thank you all the same

  • The BLB one is the only small rack that looks like it would attach to mid fork eyelets. It’s not nitto money, but it’s more expensive than my cheap sjs one.

  • The BLB struts tend to be a bit short for mid fork eyelets in my experience. Nitto offers longer struts you can cut down but they don't fit the BLB rack. I think the Tubus spare struts fit the BLB rack but they are a matte aluminum finish.

  • Buy or borrow?

  • Boldly decided to go without basket today so neither, thanks!

  • Mech hanger cracked while in the Lakes. Friendly farmer let me use his workshop and a penny washer.

We’ll see how it goes on Buttertubs tomorrow…

  • What?! You just knocked that up after asking someone you...met on the road? Impressive

  • That is some top bodging right there

  • impressive. change your username to macgyver.

  • Farmer runs the lodge we’re staying in. Top guy. We left a bottle of wine on his work bench.

Attached with bolts borrowed from my brake calliper and my sister’s multi tool 😂
