Agree, have gradually trained myself to say Johnson, and irritate people by asking them to do the same.
-
• #73228
It's a fucking disgrace and all we can do is look on. The daily mail will be full of sunak arse licking tomorrow to keep the Tory demographic away from any real truths.
He had already shown complete disregard for the code by allowing Patel to stay in her job despite being found to have bullied staff.

We have basically gone full post-truth Trump.
I didn’t do it, it wasn’t me and nobody saw me. If you did see me, it wasn’t me. A big boy did it and ran away.

IDK, I'm quite looking forward to paying not tax at all in '23. They'll probably give every tax-payer a puppy as well.
-
• #73231
Bulldog?

• #73232
Yougov poll suggesting its not all sunlit uplands for the Tories
-
• #73233
^ Tories warn Johnson he needs to shift the goalposts to stay in power.
-
• #73234
Also remember that one of YouGov's founders is Nadhim Zahawi, so take what they say with a pinch of salt.
(In a "We're doomed. We're doomed. Actually, no we're not." way.)
-
• #73235
Yup. YouGov often acts as a big foghorn to alert the faithful. They seem to be able to mobilise their core vote far better than others.
-
• #73236
They are not your fucking friends, nor are they Madonna or Beyoncé
Sunak lipsyncing to Material Girl isn't an image I needed in my head.

Crikey! Flag of St George face paint and order your beer in pints!
Distraction techniques lowered to below a snake’s belly level of cunning plan.

• #73239
I fucking despair.
-
• #73240
I’m so fucking embarrassed to be British. The boomers have turned us into a complete clown-show.
-
• #73241
The article went on to says anyone who’s under 40 will struggle with it, which is quite a large chunk of the population.
Is that how our government is? Just doing what it want regardless of what the majority want.
-
• #73242
Just doing what it want regardless
Umm. Yes.
the majority
Who seem perfectly happy with this crockshit
So depressing -
• #73243
I am starting to think that this shit country deserves the bunch of cunts governing it.
-
• #73244
I do find it odd/surprising how often my students refer to feet and inches. Is it an American influence?
-
• #73245
No. We are just contrary.
If it is hot we use Fahrenheit, cold we use centigrade. Height, feet and inches. Distance then miles if driving, Km if running.
Only Engineering is metric in this wonderful, mixed up, crazy kid country.
I love it.
-
• #73246
Bmx geometry is still all inches for me
-
• #73247
Imperial measures never went away so what is there to bring back?
-
• #73248
what is there to bring back?
The workhouse? Scrofula? Pea-soupers?
Maybe this unit bullshit is not a distraction, but a clever 6-dimensional chess move to strike a trade deal with Liberia?
-
• #73249
this wonderful, mixed up, crazy kid country
American-influenced if every I heard it...
I assumed metric would have become more commonly used by the youth, but apparently not.

Well - I did grow up in Chicago (but still painfully English). That was, er, now what do you call it? referential humour.
On top of that, removed the code about bullying staff and conflict of interest.
